Little Help Here: Card Games

Anyone have any suggestions for good card games for travellers? We´ve started playing an ongoing game of Gin Rummy, which has been great, but I know there are other good games out there to help pass the time. Cumulative scoring games that can be played a hand or two here and there are great, but we´re open to anything. Also, games for 2 people would be best. Any suggestions?

You don´t need to include the rules (unless you made the game up) – we can probably google the title to find them.

Thanks!

52 card pick-up has always been my fave. har har.
you guys should invent a new card game on this trip and call it a dangerous business – that would be a good souvenir. i imagine it would involve a lot of risky gambles, and a pair of jokers would win. 😉

I like the idea of inventing a game… and it does give us something to do.

I definitely think that honing your card playing is essential, then when you run into the senior citizens on your travels you can really school them with your mad skills. Coming from a card playing family, I have a few suggestions. My grandmother always played spite and malice with us. There’s also canasta, which I was a fiend for my freshman year of high school. Then my sisters and I also played spit. If you can find a board, cribbage is always good too.

Have fun!

So you didn’t bring the ‘sex deck’ along with ya?
Plan poorly much?!

Chinese Poker is a great two person game and you can keep a running tally. Look it up!

Crazy Eights! It’s just like Uno, but with regular cards. Also, we played a game called King’s Cross a lot in high school, which I remember being pretty fun- sort of like solitaire for two.
