We had two big takeaways from our time in Stuttgart. One was learning the German expression “der Gluckspilz” which translates to “lucky mushroom.” As in, “You’ve arrived here in Stuttgart on the first nice day we’ve had all summer. That’s quite the lucky mushroom.”

But the second big takeaway from Stuttgart was our visit to the Porsche museum. A combination of dozens of stunning cars and a fantastic exhibit design which makes the museum quite the drool-inducing experience.

Almost all of the cars are parked right on the floor, allowing you to walk right up to them, around them, peer inside… everything but open the door and hop in.

They also have several great displays of trophies and Porsche ephemera, fantastically edited and narrated historical footage and technical information, and great interactive audio displays.

i am SOOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!
as a fellow Porsche lover it is sort of like visiting the Acropolis – no place else quite like it with all that history. Did it make you want to try your hand again at autocrossing with one of them – ANY one of them??? which was your favorite?
Actually i think the Tractor is pretty cool. Thanks for living out one of my favorite fantasies for me.
