Little Help Here: Turkey

On May 3rd we’ll be arriving in Istanbul for a 2 to 3 week tour of Turkey. Probably our last stop on the trip before we make our way back home.

We don’t have a set itinerary yet, but thought we’d throw a notice out there and see if anyone has any friends or family in Turkey that might be willing to house us for a night.

We expect to be out of internet contact from April 5th through May 1st while we’re trekking. We’ve heard that there are some internet locations along the way, but we can’t be sure. If you or someone your referring us to has any questions you can check out the About Us or Invite Us pages or send us an email.

Thanks for any help!

I certainly can’t be of any help. I just think this trip is awesome and I hope you get your fill… of Turkey.

hi C and A-
i spent a wonderful long afternoon viewing your photos of climbing and trecking in napal. i was glad to see from your photos that you are able to find beer in most locations! and the food looks mainly vegetarian – a nice change from the mutton in mongolia. so did you eat anything really strange ( you know bugs or squirrel or a veg you had not seen before?). many of your sleeping areas looked comfy – were you warm enough? i was surprised to see those plastic chairs in the yard of one of the lodges.
many colorful prayer flags and wheels – do they make a sound?
was it hard to breath at the higher altitudes? i used to feel really tired after being at the top of squaw valley all day and that was only half of where you were. and what about sunburn – bet that was a worry at that altitude too.
Nice blister – hope it healed ok. Were those hanging bridges hard to walk over and how much did they move – what was the highest one you crossed – scarry???. the terraced planted areas were interesting what were they growing? i think i saw allot of potatoes in your meals and mmmm potstickers.
some of those paths you walked looked very rough – almost cobble stones and long up climbs. the water falls and rivers were interesting – really cold? was it drinkable?
i liked seeing the bright paint and artwork on some of the buildings. i was interested to see those horses and the “no riding” signs – what other wildlife did you see – besides the cute dogs and that ant thief stealing the crumb i mean.
“telecommunications”??? how modern – guess it’s everywhere
were those water bottles discarded by that toilet – i couldn’t see too well. and how much of that writing on the rock walls was graphiti and how much perhaps were prayers?
it is interesting to see the signs used in different countries – i particularly noticed the Fosters on Tap, “kwality” , Trust Me Bakery and the place that advertized the 27 degree view. i was also wondering about the music you have heard – singing, radio, etc – suppose i can ask once you’re back.

well thank you again for another trippy afternoon – glad you walked all those miles for those photos – i have certainly enjoyed your trip.
hugs
dani
